Sources

The Ctenuchinae are considered to belong to the Arctiidae rather than to the Syntomidae, in agreement with many recent authors.

Much of the data about the moths of Martinique was drawn from the book by R. Pinchon and P. Enrico, 1969. Faune des Antilles Françaises. Les Papillons, Fort de France 258 pp., although this book deals mainly with Rhopalocera and hawk-moths.

Arctiinae and Pericopinae

The specimens were identified by Count Hervé de Toulgoët (Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris). The names followed the catalogue by Watson A. and Goodger D.T., 1986. Catalogue of the neotropical tiger-moths. Occasional papers on Systematic Entomology, 1: 1- 71, British Museum, London.

Ctenuchinae

The source used was the catalogue of Chalumeau and Delplanque: Chalumeau F. and Delplanque A., 1978. Catalogue commenté des Ctenuchidae (Lepidoptera) des Antilles Françaises. Bull. Soc. Linn. Lyon. 47 (4): 176-187.
