spore (P), sporulation (P), sporulate (P)


The spore (sexual or asexual) is the smallest element of a fungus assuming its own preservation and spread.
Some fungi produce their spores in a bag (eg. sporangium). Sporangium is the equivalent of a conidia in terms of spread.
Sporulation is a reserved term for asexual spore production.
