conidium, conidia


Generic term refering to a spore produced in vegetative reproductionof a fungus and located on sporulating blotches. Some fungi produce two kinds of conidia : the largest one are called macroconidia and the smallest, micoconidia. Conidia are produced and beared by specialized mycelial hyphae called conidiophores.
